Further Information

Here are some more details about the main components of DXfontutils:

font2dx
This script attempts to convert outline fonts into OpenDX area font format. It makes use of three public domain packages: fontforge, pstoedit and Triangle. fontforge, written by George Williams, is a font editor (formerly known as pfaedit) and runs on multiple platforms. It can be obtained from the fontforge web site at http://fontforge.sourceforge.net. pstoedit is a vector graphics to Postscript convertor written by Wolfgang Glunz. It may be obtained from http://www.pstoedit.net. Triangle, written by Jonathan Shewchuk, is a 2D mesh generation program. See the Triangle web site at http://www-2.cs.cmu.edu/~quake/triangle.html for further details and donloading information. All of the fonts available as part of the DXfontutils package were generated by font2dx.
dvidx
This is a TeX DVI driver converting a TeX DVI file to native OpenDX data format. It is a perl script utilizing some clever perl modules written by Jan Pazdziora. These modules must be installed if dvidx is to work. The modules are Font::TFM, TeX::DVI and TeX::DVI::Parse.They may be obtained from the CPAN archives at http://www.cpan.org. A further perl script, tex2dx, is a wrapper script around dvidx which converts pure LaTeX source directly into OpenDX format. tex2dx is used in several OpenDX macros which form part of the DXfontutils set.
dxmacros
Five OpenDX macros: TextAlias, LaTeXCaption, LaTeXText, LaTeXFileCaption and LaTeXFileText. These macros are designed to be used within the Visual Program Editor (VPE) of OpenDX. In particular, LaTeXCaption and LaTeXText are designed as replacements for the standard Caption and Text modules.
dxfonts
This is a collection of public domain fonts converted into OpenDX format by font2dx. Most of these fonts form part of the TeX Live distribution, a TeX/LaTeX implementation provided by the TeX User's Group (TUG). All of the core Computer Modern fonts are provided, plus some extra font sets.
